In some past columns I elaborate on the value of partnership. I mentioned sponsorships, grants, and other collaborations that are mutually beneficial and make initiatives that much more successful. This is an update on a couple of the partnerships and sponsorships.
• This past spring, I talked about an initiative in which we would help frontline workers in the medical field buy food, products, and services for the professionals in the medical field helping out in the pandemic. The credit union would match all donations, up to a total of $1,000. The workers recognized in this initiative would receive gift certificates usable at a downtown business of their choice. We and Members 1st had the privilege of making the presentation recently. The winners—all from Inspira Health Network—were Raquel Alvarado (Employee Health), Sean Henry (Radiology Oncology), Marilyn Creamer (Front Desk), Frank Bender (Cardiopulmonary), Diana Gordillo (Environmental Services), and Firth Bowden (Pharmacy). They each received $40 gift certificates. Thank you to Members 1st for their partnership in this, and thank you to the frontline workers.
• Two Fridays ago, Main Street Vineland partnered with the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the opening of 13 new businesses on The Ave—in The Spot. The businesses, now part of 60 businesses there, offer a wide variety of items—from antiques and collectables to home décor and crafts, and a whole lot more. This was part of The Spot’s month-long fifth anniversary celebration.
• The next day was a celebration of Halloween, with a terrific Pumpkin Patch Party. COVID restrictions didn’t dampen the spirits as 100 adults and children came out to the downtown mini-parks for a couple of hours of good fun. We thank major sponsor Newfield National Bank, supporting sponsor Lidl, Trunk-or-Treat sponsor Toyota of Vineland and all the others who helped make this a success.

A friendly reminder that, if you and your loved one are planning on tying the knot, you won’t want to miss our Weddings on The Ave promotion, sponsored by Al’s Shoes, taking place all this month. I mentioned last week all the wedding-related businesses on The Ave that are ready and willing to help you make that special day even more special. Check out the promotion and make The Ave your destination for all those needs.
