Scarpa will receive the prestigious 2025 Mental Health Distinguished Community Leadership Award for his outstanding contributions to the greater Cumberland County area. He will be recognized and thanked for his dedication in supporting healthcare, mental health, communication, education, and other institutions in our region.
Born and raised in Vineland, Scarpa was an entrepreneur and leader in the cable television and cellular telephone communications industries nationwide. In addition, he funded buildings at Villanova and Stockton universities.
His contributions to healthcare through the establishment of the Frank and Edith Scarpa Regional Cancer Center at Inspira Medical Center in Vineland provide convenient access to quality cancer care for thousands of individuals throughout southern New Jersey.
Scarpa has provided critical leadership, serving on many non-profits and civic association boards. In addition to his local advocacy, he serves on a number of agencies in Palm Beach, Florida, where he has a second home. He received honorary Doctorate degrees from the American University in Rome, Italy and Villanova University, and an Honorary Doctor of Public Service Degree from Stockton University. Most recently, he received an Honorary Doctorate Degree in Humane Letters from Hawai’i Pacific University in Honolulu, Hawaii.
