Steve Plevins, chairman of The Salvation Army Vineland Corps’ Annual Turkey Drive invites the public to the Turkey Drive Kickoff Event on Saturday, November 19. The Salvation Army Vineland Corps Turkey Drive Committee (SAVC Committee) once again has partnered with Cumberland County Habitat for Humanity this year to host the Kickoff Event at the parking lot of the Habitat ReStore, 601 S. Delsea Drive in Vineland (across from Stewarts Drive-In). The fun starts at 10 a.m. and lasts until 4 p.m.
Food donations will be accepted during the Kickoff Party, which will include live music by DJ Pepper Paul of Cruisn’ 92.1 FM, carnival food, and local celebrities. A Book Signing Fundraiser will be held by author of Choose Wise Words, Rylee Howerton, Miss Bay Shore’s Outstanding Teen. All the proceeds from her sales will be donated to the Turkey Drive Fund again this year.
Donations will be accepted at the Kickoff Party (frozen turkeys, grocery store gift cards, box or canned dry food as side dishes for a Thanksgiving meal. We are unable to accept perishable food or cash donations at the Kickoff. Collections points this year are: ShopRite Lincoln & Landis – Nov. 12, 13, 19 and 20 and Marcacci Meats – November 1 through November 20 (in-store drop off). In addition, these locations will collect food on November 19 and 20: ShopRite Delsea & Landis and ShopRite Millville.

You will be provided with posters and a box for food donations. Arrangements will be made to pick up your donations during the turkey drive.

The goal of this ministry is to help every family who would otherwise not be able to buy food for a special meal at Thanksgiving. We also provide cooked meals for the homeless.
