Millville’s Coach Jones Resigns

On behalf of the Millville Athletic Department, we would like to thank Michael Jones for his dedication to the Millville High School Boys Basketball program. Coach Jones is resigning as the team’s head coach after leading the Bolts from 2010-2021. He coached the boys for 11 seasons, accrued 137 wins, and qualified for the NJSIAA Tournament seven times, all of which are the most of all time for any Head Boys Basketball Coach at Millville High School.

Coach Jones was at the helm of the program during Rynell Lawrence’s four-year career that ended with him becoming the school’s all-time leading scorer. In addition, Coach Jones also had another 1,000-point scorer during his tenure, Jaymere Hadden. During the 2018-2019 season, Mike coached the Thunderbolts to the Group IV Finals and was named the Press of Atlantic City Coach of the Year. The following year, Mike was named as the 2019 CO Basketball Summit Coach of the Year.
