Main Street Vineland honored two of its lead volunteers as well as giving out “Community Partner” and “Media Partner” awards at its recent 10th A Taste of Vineland & Volunteer Recognition Event at the Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course. 4049 Italia Ave., Vineland.

The event, in addition to recognizing Main Street Vineland, brought Vineland’s finest restaurants together offering their signature dishes and raised funds for downtown beautification, business recruitment and development, and events. The major sponsors were First Choice Freezer & Cold Storage and M & O Freezer & Cold Storage.

Honored as “Volunteers of the Year” were Kirk and Kathleen Maven. The Mavens have been actively involved in all Main Street events. “From the planning stages, to team and committee meetings, to helping out at the events themselves, you can count on Kirk and Kathy to be there and ready to help,” said Main Street Executive Director Russell Swanson.

Members 1st of NJ Federal Credit Union was honored as “Community Partner” for their close collaboration with Main Street Vineland on a number of projects and events including sponsorships and grant assistance. “They have been of tremendous help to us and our downtown businesses, especially during the recent times of financial need during the COVID crisis,” Swanson said.

The “Media Partner” award went to SNJ Today for the coverage, publicity, and support they have given Main Street Vineland in print, online, and radio. “No matter what the platform—from the regular spots they have given us on radio and online, to advertising, to a weekly column—they have helped us immeasurably to get our message across,” Swanson said.
