February 4 wasn’t a very nice day outside, but the rain didn’t keep members of the Millville Woman’s Club (MWC) from gathering at Cumberland Mall to walk in recognition of National Wear Red Day and to support the American Heart Association (AHA). With heart disease affecting many people and taking many lives, National Wear Red Day sends a very important message for people to be aware of their heart health and take strides toward healthier living.

AHA is an excellent resource for information. As a non-profit organization, founded in 1924, it “funds cardiovascular medical research, educates consumers on healthy living and fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke” (heart.org).
