Gov. Phil Murphy recently wrote to Steve Plevins recognizing the Salvation Army Vineland Corps and the Vineland Salvation Army Turkey Drive Committee for their efforts in providing the turkey and food for a Thanksgiving meal. This great feat is accomplished through monetary and food donations, as well as tireless dedication and arduous work of the Corps staff and its volunteers.
Now in its 12th year, the Vineland Salvation Army Turkey Drive kicks off on Saturday, November 12 at ShopRite Lincoln and Landis in Vineland. The annual kickoff party will be held on Saturday, November 19, at The Habitat for Humanity of Cumberland County ReStore, 602 S. Delsea Drive, Vineland. Come out and meet local celebrities as food donations are collected to feed Vineland families in need.
Collection Points the weekend of November 19 are: Marcacci Meats, 1159 N. Delsea Drive, Vineland, ShopRite Delsea & Landis, ShopRite, Landis & Lincoln, and ShopRite Millville. Frozen turkeys will be collected at these collections points from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Side dishes such as canned food, dry or box food, and soft drinks will also be collected.
If you start a collection at work, you’ll be provided a box and a poster. Cash donations can be mailed to: Vineland Salvation Army (write “Turkey Drive” on the memo line), Attn. Steve Plevins, P. O. Box 2065, Vineland, NJ 08362. If interested in volunteering or would like more information about the Turkey Drive, e-mail [email protected] or call Steve Plevins: 856-558-3825.
