Jawbone Gallery Presents “ORNITHOLOGY” — A Celebration of Birds in Art
Jawbone Gallery, Cape May’s contemporary fine art destination, is proud to present “ORNITHOLOGY’, a group exhibition on view from October 25 – December 21, 2025, with an opening reception on Saturday, October 25, from 6–8 PM.
“ORNITHOLOGY” takes flight as an electrifying group art exhibition that celebrates the wild and wondrous world of birds through the eyes of diverse artists. The show brings together a constellation of talent, each with their own unique lens on the avian universe, blending a range of mediums and styles challenging our perceptions and inviting us to explore new visual territories. Expect everything from abstract interpretations of soaring flight to hyper-realistic portraits that capture the intricate beauty of feathers.
These artists don’t just depict birds; they bring them to life, infusing them with meaning, motion, and mystery. With each piece telling its own story of freedom, flight, and fragility, this show promises to be a soaring celebration of creativity that will leave you rethinking the way you look at the skies.
Featured Artists:
David Cheifetz, Aaron Westerberg, Vanessa Foley, Robert Lange, Scott Troxel, Jefferson Hayman, Phil Courtney, Alpay Efe, Alessandra Maria Pisano, and Victor Grasso
“Cape May is world-renowned for its birding, and we wanted this exhibition to honor that deep connection our community has with the natural world. With Ornithology, artists from around the globe bring their own visions of birds to life, creating a dialogue between art and nature that feels especially at home here. It’s a celebration we’re thrilled to share with both our local birders and visiting art lovers alike.” — Alicia Grasso, Founder/Owner of Jawbone Gallery
The opening reception on October 25 is free and open to the public. Guests will have the opportunity to converse with some of the artists, enjoy complimentary refreshments, and immerse themselves in an unforgettable evening of art and community.
Now in its second season, Jawbone Gallery—founded by Victor and Alicia Grasso—continues to foster a dynamic space for contemporary art in the heart of Cape May. Through rotating exhibitions, the gallery champions original voices and compelling visual storytelling from both emerging and established artists.
