As part of its continued commitment to providing innovative technologies that help customers save time and money, Walmart has installed a new Pickup Tower at the Millville Walmart. The Tower went live on February 14.

“We’re excited to celebrate these innovations with our customers,” said Sherry Thomas, market manager. “This is the latest technology available and it’s right here in Millville.”

The Pickup Tower functions like a high-tech vending machine and can fulfill a customer’s online order in less than a minute. To use the tower, customers simply choose from millions of items available on Walmart.com and select the “Pickup” option at checkout. When the item arrives at the local store, an associate loads it into the Pickup Tower and the customer retrieves it by scanning a bar code sent to their smartphone. The vast majority of the Pickup Towers are paired with Pickup Lockers which allow customers to pick up large items, such as TVs.
