Vineland’s Glastron To Expand
Vineland glass manufacturer Glastron Inc. has announced plans to more than double the size of its operation; the project also includes extensive improvements. Glastron has been at 510 Northwest Boulevard, at the corner of Erin Street, for more than 50 years and specializes in precision glass. The plan concept was recently approved by the city.
The plant area will be expanded by 8,700-square-feet while maintaining the current 1.9-acre land size. To facilitate this growth, several structures, including an office, will be demolished, paving the way for improved parking, traffic flow, and stormwater management.
At last month’s meeting, the zoning board approved the use variance to Glastron. Next, a comprehensive final site plan will be presented for approval.
Glastron was under local ownership until 2010 when it was acquired by Restek Corp., a large, private, employee-owned firm based in Bellefonte, PA.
