Education chairpersons of the Millville Woman’s Club, Donna Pio at left and Barbara Westog, right, congratulate Daleisha (DJ) Johnson, center, on being the club’s representative at the Girls’ Career Institute held in the spring at Douglass College of Rutgers University. Daleisha spoke at the club’s October meeting on her experiences there. She said she made new friends and heard speakers related to her interests and career goals.
“It was great to meet like-minded people who want to succeed in life,” she commented. A senior at Millville High School, she ranks fifth in a class of 367. Daleisha is enrolled in Advanced Placement courses and received the Academic Varsity Letter in 2017, 2018 and 2019. She is a member of the Marching Band and the Tri-M Music Honors Society as well as National Honors Society. After graduation she hopes to enroll in a four-year college and major in neuroscience.
