Matt Milam of Vineland was installed as president of Spirit and Truth Ministries, Inc, Vineland Soup Kitchen, during the organization’s January meeting. Also installed were vice-president Gary Beres, treasurer Carol Gurzo and secretary Lynn Harris.mIn addition, the following members will serve on the Board: Dana Catalana, Debbie Eisinger and Mario Ruiz-Mesa. The interim past president was Tony Centeno. He will serve as the public relations liaison and as the head chef.
Spirit and Truth Ministries, Inc, Vineland Soup Kitchen, a 501c3 faith-based organization, is devoted to working in conjunction with the local community in a group effort to provide food assistance to the low income, food insecure and homeless population. Meals are served weekdays, including breakfast and a hot nutritious lunch. Brown-bagged non-perishable lunches are provided on Fridays for the weekend. In 2019, more than 39,000 meals were served, approximately 100+ meals daily. “Beyond Feeding” services are integrated into the program by inviting outside social service, health-related and other help organizations to come and visit the kitchen.
Spirit and Truth Ministries, Inc is supported by local grocery stores, grants, the Community Food Bank and donations from the local community. Donations are welcome and appreciated. Spirit and Truth raises funds by hosting a Bags, Bucks Bingo & Basket Raffle in June, a Pasta & Meatball Dinner in September, and a Flapjack Breakfast in December.
