Sights Set on Fall

by Russell Swanson, Exec. Dir., VDID, Main Street Vineland
What a busy time we had on The Ave this past weekend! The memories of our Food Trucks on The Ave and the aromas of all the delicious foods are still fresh, and our four-legged friends enjoyed celebrating National Dog Day at our Paws On The Ave event. The heat and humidity of summer still have us in their grip. We, in Main Street Vineland, have to put all that behind us and focus on the fall lineup of activities. You’ll be reading a lot more about these events as time goes on, but here’s a sneak peek.
We’re two months away from our eighth annual Pumpkin Patch Party on The Ave, to take place on Saturday, October 28, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the mini-parks at Landis Avenue and the Boulevard. We get over 100 children and parents for a couple of hours of holiday fun, games, and activities with DJ Tony Gambino (Gambino Entertainment). It’s an opportunity to enjoy the cooler autumn weather, engage in some good, wholesome activities, and have a great time on The Ave. Sponsorship opportunities are available and more information can be found at theave.biz/events/pumpkin-patch-party/
Next up is our A Taste of Vineland & Volunteer Recognition event, which will return for its 12th year on Wednesday, October 25 from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course, 4049 Italia Ave., Vineland. The major sponsors of this event are First Choice Freezer & Cold Storage and M&O Freezer & Cold Storage. Many of Vineland’s finest restaurants will be offering samples of their signature dishes—main courses, appetizers, and desserts—and we’ll have a fabulous silent auction. This event always sells out fast, so be sure to get your tickets early. Find out more and purchase tickets at theave.biz/events/taste-of-vineland/
Also at that event, we’ll recognize those who have worked closely with us on projects and initiatives including the giving of a “Volunteer of the Year” award along with other recognitions (to be announced soon). Robin Adams will return as our master of ceremonies for this fun evening.
Additional sponsorship opportunities are still available and ad space will be available in the event program book. More information is available on the Main Street Vineland website—TheAve.biz—or call our office at 856-794-8653 for more details. Come out and show your support!
And, if that’s not enough to get you downtown, be on the lookout for more announcements of several micro-events planned to promote our Sculptures on The Ave. These pop-up events will be fun and help promote both the arts and the businesses in our downtown district.
