Denise, known as “Lil Dee” by everyone who loves her at the Florham Park Diner, is going through something no one should ever face.
She just lost her daughter, Samantha, and now she’s dealing with the emotional pain while also struggling to cover the medical and funeral expenses left behind.
So, if there’s ever been a time for the community to come together, it’s now.
Perhaps you’ve eaten at the Florham Park Diner; if so, you probably know Denise.
She’s that friendly server who always greets you with a big smile and somehow remembers what you ordered last time.
And she’s been a part of the diner family for years, always putting others first and spreading kindness to everyone she meets.
The kind of person who lights up a room and makes you feel like you belong.
Denise’s daughter, Samantha, was a big part of her life.
To Denise, Samantha was her “mini-me.” They were that close.
Samantha also worked at the diner sometimes, so many regulars got to know her.
And she had an amazing bond with her mom; they were practically inseparable.
But life wasn’t easy for Samantha.
She was born with a chronic blood disorder, which made staying healthy a constant fight.
Even though she had to battle so much, she stayed strong and kept going.
Sadly, Samantha passed away on November 9th, leaving Denise and Samantha’s husband behind to cope with not just their grief but also a mountain of bills.
As you can expect, the financial strain between medical and funeral expenses is overwhelming.
And while Denise has always been the one to lend a hand to others, now she’s the one who needs help.
The positive news is that the community is actively taking action.
A GoFundMe page has been created to help Denise during this tough time.
Even a small donation can help ease some pressure and show Denise she’s not alone.
Forget the money, although that will help massively—this is more about letting her know she’s surrounded by people who care.
Denise has been there for so many of us over the years.
She’s the one who’s always checking in on others, always willing to go the extra mile to make someone’s day a little better.
Now, it’s our turn to show up for her.
If you want to help, you can donate through the GoFundMe page.
Search for “Florham Park Diner Denise fundraiser” online, and you’ll find it.
Every little bit helps, and we can take some of the weight off her shoulders together.
This is what being part of a community is all about—supporting each other through tough times.
Denise has been there for so many people; now we can be there for her.
