RCSJ Baseball Update
The Rowan College of South Jersey (RCSJ) Cumberland Dukes baseball team returned to the diamond recently for its 2026 season under head coach Joey Gorman. On Opening Day, the team split a double header at Rockingham Community College.
Last season, the Dukes returned to its historical standard, dominating Region XIX in NJCAA Division 3 and going all the way to the Final Four in the Division 3 World Series in Johnson City, Tenn.
Gorman is starting his third season at the helm. The 2026 roster features returning players aiming to build on the previous year’s success. Last year, the team had one streak of 20 wins in 21 games.
Three Dukes earned national awards for their efforts: NJCAA All-American Tyler Bunting, DH, second team; Joey Kuttz, pitcher, third team; and Ty Powell, outfielder, Gold Glove Award.
In one of the key times of the season, against other strong teams, RCSJ will soon play three games with Atlantic Cape Community College,a single game March 13 and a double header on March 14. Following that, there are three games against Delaware Technical Community College this Sunday (DH) and Monday. One of the biggest games in the always-crucial head-to-head battle with its counterpart RCSJ-Gloucester takes place next week on March 18.
