Makema Edwards-Douglas spoke to Boys & Girls Clubs of Cumberland County’s SMART Girls ages 8-13 years old about “Protecting Their Dream.” The idea of the session was to remember to protect what you say, hear and see and do not get distracted. Club girls danced for Mrs. Douglas and presented her with thank-you cards for coming to speak with them. She asked them to write down their dreams for the future on “paper pearls,” as a way to focus on their goals and work to make them come to fruition.
