The New Jersey statewide Special Olympics Summer Games were held recently at The College of New Jersey, with athletes competing in events like softball, track and field, and swimming. The Millville Hammerheads, a Special Olympics swim team that practices at Holly City Family Center, earned three silver and 15 gold medals. The kids worked hard and did an amazing job. They competed in individual events, as well as freestyle and medley relays, winning gold in both of those events. The team currently has seven swimmers and five coaches.
