Millville Woman’s Club (MWC) is a strong supporter of education as well as good citizenship and the Irene Decker “Good Kid Award” demonstrates this. This award is given to students at Lakeside Middle School following the Step-Up Ceremony as they prepare to move on to high school. Students are selected for this award based on their conduct, grades, character and helpfulness to the entire school community.
Donna Pio and Barbara Westog, MWC Education Committee members, recently presented “Good Kid Awards” to Mattie Moore and Bryan Ganci. Mattie participates in AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), plays field hockey and lacrosse, is a travel club member, enjoys working on cars with her father and is active in her youth group at Dwelling Church.
Bryan is active in school plays, participated in Off Broadway Street Players and went to Teen Camp at the Levoy Theater. He enjoys art, chess, collecting antiques, learning about local history and playing his saxophone. He wants to pursue music and become a music teacher in middle school.
MWC members congratulate these students for their good citizenship.
