Senate President Steve Sweeney participated in the Cumberland County reorganization meeting, where he delivered the oath of office to Freeholder Darlene Barber and Cumberland County Clerk Celeste Riley.

“I want to thank the members of the freeholder board and county officials for their willingness to serve the public,” said Senator Sweeney (D-Gloucester/Salem/Cumberland). “As a former freeholder director, I know what an incredible honor it is to serve at the county level and the opportunity it provides to bring positive change directly to families in the community. I look forward to continuing to work with county officials in the years ahead so that together we can build on the progress being made in towns across Cumberland.”

Cumberland County Freeholder Darlene Barber and Cumberland County Clerk Celeste Riley were both re-elected in November’s General Election. Freeholder-elect Douglas Albrecht was also sworn in for his first term during the ceremony.
