The Cumberland County Young Republican Organization Executive Committee announced that it has selected Matthew Johnson as the group’s new Chairman. He will take over for outgoing Chairman William Gruccio, who will continue to provide counsel to the organization as Chairman Emeritus.
Gruccio served as Chairman since 2015, when he spearheaded an effort with the help of Cumberland County Republican Chairman Michael Testa to relaunch the dormant group. Since that time, the group has been meeting regularly, helping to support republican candidates and doing positive work in the community such as organizing holiday toy drives.
Matt Johnson is a graduate of Columbia College with a bachelor’s degree in political science. He is currently the Director of Operations for Johnson Design Associates, a civil engineering firm that specializes in septic system design, and he owns JVI Business Strategies, a consulting firm that helps companies reduce overhead and streamline marketing functions. Matt is also active in the community, having served as Chairman of the Main Street Vineland Organization Team and as a mentor for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland and Salem Counties. He is also a former member of the Landis Theater Foundation Board.
The Cumberland County Young Republican Organization encourages connections between young professionals. The organization offers a safe and supportive network in which community members under 40 years of age can ask questions, express their opinions, and learn more about what the Cumberland County Regular Republican Organization is doing throughout the area.
