To recognize Black History Month, the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cumberland County engaged some community leaders, business owners and area mentors to speak to Club kids. One such community leader, Hassan Hameed-El (pictured here, right), spoke about black leaders in history, slavery, his boxing career, and overcoming various challenges in his own life. Hassan owns Hassan’s Hair Hut and is a boxing trainer who trained such pros as Tommy “Cornflake” LaManna (a former Boys & Girls Club member) and Ismael Garcia.
