Cumberland County Technical Education Center (TEC) is excited to announce that we have selected Morey’s Piers as our 2019-2020 Business Partner of the Year.
Morey’s Piers & Beachfront Waterparks is a classic seaside amusement park located in Wildwood, NJ. The park has been family-owned and -operated since 1969 and is currently run by second-generation Morey brothers Will and Jack. CCTEC & Morey’s Piers formed a partnership during the 2019-2020 school year to provide TEC students with summer employment. Students were given the opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment, learning critical employment skills, all while earning a paycheck. The employability skills TEC students gained while working for Morey’s Piers will benefit them greatly when they transition from their high school program to college and career.
Annually, a business partner is honored by each of New Jersey’s 21 county career and technical school districts. Business partners typically serve on technical advisory boards to ensure that district programs meet industry standards and needs. They donate equipment, host site visits, serve as guest speakers, role models and mentors, offer internships and scholarships, and hire students and graduates.
