Bruno Romeo graduated as valedictorian of Buena Regional High School Class of 2019. Bruno received the award for Outstanding Mathematics Student and Student Council Treasurer as treasurer of the Student Council Executive Board. While in high school, Bruno was also a member of the National Honor Society, president of the Ski Club and responsible for its re-establishment at the high school and Treasurer of the Academic Team. He was a member of the varsity swim team, junior varsity baseball and football teams and was recognized as a past Chief of the Month and a Student Leader.
Outside of school, Bruno is a junior volunteer firefighter with the Landisville Volunteer Fire Department, a Red Cross certified lifeguard, holds a NJ State Police boater’s license and was a member of former Congressman Frank LoBiondo’s Youth Advisory Council.
Bruno received The Press of Atlantic City Young Leaders Award and multiple other scholarships due to his academic achievements and varied community service. He was recognized by Atlantic County UNICO, The DOT Organization for leadership and received the Atlantic County JDAI Education Award for Community Engagement among others.
Bruno will be attending Embry Riddle Aeronautical University Honors College, majoring in aerospace engineering with a specialization in propulsion. His intention upon graduation of the university master’s program is to begin a career with NASA, SpaceX or similar company as a rocket scientist to be part of the next mission to Mars.
Bruno is the son of David and Susan Romeo of Landisville and the grandson of Betty Testa of Landisville and Angelo and Susan Romeo of Middletown, Delaware (formerly of Newfield).
