Spreading the Thanksgiving Love

Sharing a Thanksgiving meal with family has been a longstanding tradition, but there are those for whom this exceeds their budget. The staff at Silver Run School is aware of some of these families within the community. Mary Miskelly, chair of the Millville Woman’s Club (MWC) Civic and Outreach Committee, coordinated the club’s annual Thanksgiving Basket Project for the school. Club members donated preparations for entire Thanksgiving meals, including turkeys, stuffing, gravy, sweet potatoes, cranberry sauce, and desserts. On November 21, bags of these preparations were delivered to Eric Reissek, principal, and Heather Garrison, PTO, of Silver Run School so they could be distributed to selected families in time for them to enjoy their Thanksgiving dinners. More of the collected items were supplied to the Hope Center for its Thanksgiving dinner.
