A Place of Honor

Downe Township honors veterans at new memorial park.

A long awaited Veterans Memorial Park became a reality on November 8 when the residents of Downe Township took part in its dedication. The Downe Township Green Team volunteers brought the project to life with funds from grants, money raised from community events, and donations.

The program included a singalong to patriotic songs, shared memories about some local veterans, presentation of colors by the Bridgeton High School ROTC Color Guard, and an introduction of municipal and county officials attending.

The park was created as a place for the community and family members to honor their fallen heroes. Many thanks to everyone that participated in and supported this project.
