2020 Lineup

I’m going to take this occasion to give you a sneak peek at the year ahead and give you a rundown of the events we have in store. Details for many of the events will be forthcoming and we may have some additions to the schedule, as time goes on. Here’s what we have so far, so you can mark your calendar and save the dates:

As in past years, we use the first two or three months for planning major events. When the weather breaks, we gather steam and the calendar becomes fuller.

If you’re cat-lover, you’ll want to head down to Landis MarketPlace on the last Saturday of this month, as the Empire Cat Club presents “The Empire Returns,” a Cat Fanciers’ Association (CFA) sanctioned allbreed cat show. It’s set for Saturday, February 29, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Landis MarketPlace, 631 E. Landis Ave. Tickets for the show, $8 for adults, $6 for kids 6 to 12, free admission for children under age 6, can be purchased at the door. Enjoy some fun, frisky felines on The Ave. For more information on that, e-mail [email protected].

Enjoy a free concert by the U.S. Air Force Heritage Brass of the USAF Heritage of America Band on Saturday, March 14, at 3 p.m., at Landis Theater, 830 E. Landis Avenue. The concert is sponsored by Samuel Coraluzzo Co., Inc./Torrissi Transport.

Come and network with our businesses and the public at our Mix, Mingle, and Meet on March 18, at Vegans Are Us, 636 E. Landis Avenue. Likewise, we’ll be partnering with the Greater Vineland Chamber of Commerce for a Meet-and-Greet on June 23. Watch for more information.

We’ll be putting our hard-working volunteers—the lifeblood of our organization—in the spotlight at our Volunteer Appreciation Night on April 22.

Some stupendous talent will be on display at our third annual Diamond in the Rough Talent Show on April 25 at Landis Theater. We’ll have details on how to enter and get your tickets to show your support.

The Ave will again be packed with vintage cars as Cruise Down Memory Lane returns to The Ave for the 29th year on June 13. This super-event brings the era of muscle cars, chrome, and fins back to The Ave.

Our Running the Ave 5K returns for a second year, rain or shine, on June 28—again in partnership with Second Capital Running. Last year’s event brought 145 runners to The Ave and we want to build on that momentum this year.

We’re working on bringing back Play Streets for Fridays in June and July. Vineland Community Policing and various non-profits will help plan the activities.

Our fourth annual Food Truck Festival on The Ave is set for August 23. The past three festivals were phenomenal successes. Lots of food and continuous entertainment will be the order of the day.

The annual A Taste of Vineland and Volunteer Recognition Event—our signature fundraising event of the year—is scheduled for October 21 at Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course. Enjoy food from our finest restaurants and honor our worthy volunteers.

Our fourth annual Pumpkin Patch Party will occur at the mini-parks on October 31. Games, entertainment, and winner of the Scarecrow Challenge will mark another fun event that we’re planning again.

Brides and grooms should mark their calendars for our Weddings on The Ave bridal show extravaganza on November 4. We’ll have exhibitors and a fashion show.

The annual Christmas Parade, always set for the weekend after Thanksgiving, is scheduled for November 28.

We’re also planning seminars for our businesses and some other activities. So, let’s make the start of a new decade a great time for Vineland and The Ave.
