The oldest high school Thanksgiving Day football rivalry game in New Jersey will not be played on turkey day, this year. The 2020 version of the annual Vineland-Millville football game, which began in 1893, has been rescheduled to Saturday, November 28, due to concerns regarding the novel coronavirus.
The game is scheduled to be played at 10:30 a.m. on Vineland’s home turf at Gittone Stadium.
Last year, the Fighting Clan defeated the ‘Bolts, 27-26, extending their winning streak in the testy, longtime rivalry to four games. Vineland leads the overall series 67-62-19.
This year, Millville comes into the matchuip with a record of 3-4, winning its last game, against Egg Harbor Township.
Vineland’s last game was on November 5, a 35-7 win over Clearview, upping its record to 2-3.
