Vineland Holiday Lighting Contest Announced

The City of Vineland and the Vineland Municipal Utilities are accepting entries for the 2019 David Di Giovacchino Holiday Lighting Contest. The contest is an annual opportunity for residents to showcase their creative talents with wonderful holiday displays. Participants are encouraged to be original, colourful, and imaginative with their use of lights, seasonal characters, scenes, and appropriate decorations. There are no specific display criteria, just have fun and celebrate the magic of the season.

Cash prizes totaling $1,000 will again be awarded to the top five contest winners as selected by the judges, courtesy of Corning Glass.

If interested in participating in this year’s contest, entries must be received by 5 p.m. on Monday, December 16 via e-mail to [email protected], or by calling 856-794-4000, ext. 4149. Entries submitted via e-mail will receive a confirmation. Participants should include their name, address, daytime phone number, and clear directions to their residence. The contest is open to Vineland residents only.

Judging will take place on Tuesday, December 17 from 6 to 9 p.m. Entrants are asked to have their displays turned on during these hours. Selected participants will be invited to City Hall where winners will be announced, and prizes awarded. The first-place winner will receive $500, second-place $300, third-place $100; and fourth and fifth place will receive $50 each.
