Programs at Millville Public Library
Millville Public Library has many August activities planned. All events will be held at the library (210 Buck Street, Millville) unless otherwise specified. Registration: 856-825-7087 or millvillepubliclibrary.org
Basic Computer Skills Classes: The Millville Public Library will be hosting recurring six-week computer class series’. Topics such as Intro to Computers, Internet & Email, and Intros to Microsoft Suite and Google Docs will be covered. Classes are held on Mondays and Wednesdays 5:30–7:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Fridays 11 a.m.–1 p.m. Registration is required.
Nutritional Snack Kit: Register each month to pick up a nutritional snack kit for kids and parents to make together! Kits will be available between August 18 and 22 for those registered. You must register before the week that kits are distributed!
Summer Reading Wrap-up: Join us as we celebrate the end of our summer activities with sweet treats and prizes for all. Everyone who signed up for summer reading is invited to this final program! Prizes will be awarded and there will be snacks! All winners must be present to claim their prize; otherwise, new winners will be selected. Wrap-up will be August 20 from 6 to 7 p.m.
Poetry Workshop: It’s poetry night at the Millville Public Library! On August 21 at 6 p.m. we will host a Poetry Workshop for ages 18+, which will be facilitated by RG Evans, local author and poet.
Fiber Arts: Group for those to work on knitting, crocheting, macramé, sewing, embroidery, and any other fiber art they wish. Bring supplies and tools from home. Meets every Wednesday from 1 to 3 p.m.
Color Our World with Jewelry: On Thursday, August 7 at 6:30 p.m. Renee Rasinger will show us how to make colorful and fun jewelry. All supplies provided. This is an adult Summer Reading event.
Color Our World with Spice: Royal Spice Restaurant in Millville has been invited to show us the colorful side of Indian cuisine. Celebrate the colors of our world and community at this event, being held on Thursday, August 14 at 6:30 p.m. This is an adult Summer Reading event.
Littoral Society: Welcome “Critters, Creeks, and Coasts” Stations Program put on by the American Littoral Society. Children will go around the stations to learn about their local environment. This event is to be held Tuesday, August 12 from 1 to 2 p.m.
Hometown Heroes: Speak to firefighters, police officers, and emergency medical services workers from your own community! This event will be held Thursday, August 14 at 1 p.m.
Lego Club: On August 12 at 6 p.m., build themed Lego designs with family and friends. Registration is required.
Teen Room Takeover: A space for teens to hang out, play games, socialize, and have fun together! We have board games, crafts, and Nintendo Switch games available to play at this weekly event on Wednesdays in August from 3 to 5 p.m.
