Millville Woman’s Club Awards Scholarships

Donna Pio, co-chair of the MWC Education Committee, center, presented the scholarships to Sierra, pictured at left with her mother Melissa Busler, and Makayla, at right with her father, Keith Nelson. Makayla’s mother, Cynthia Nelson, could not be present. MWC extends congratulations to Sierra and Makayla as well as their proud parents.

Sierra Ojeda and Makayla Nelson are 2022 graduates from Millville High School. Both are members of the National Honor Society and have been active in school and community activities. On June 9, at the Millville High School Honors Assembly, Sierra and Makayla were each recipients of a scholarship as a result of their achievements. The Millville Woman’s Club (MWC) was pleased to be among those honoring them.

Sierra has been using her artistic and musical talents in school as well as in the community and plans to pursue a career in the arts.The MWC Chorus was pleased to provide Sierra with a scholarship as she continues her studies at the Philadelphia Academy of Fine Arts. Makayla, also very active in school and community activities, has been focused on biomedical studies. She has already completed her associates degree through the Early College Program at Rowan College of South Jersey. MWC was pleased to provide Makayla with a scholarship as she pursues her studies in biology at Montclair State College, working toward becoming as a pharmacist.
