All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are invited to participate in the local level of competition for the 2019 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. The local competition will be held at the Millville Soccer Association Complex at 1400 McCafferty Blvd. from 12 noon to 3 p.m. on September 14.
The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with winners progressing through local, district, and jurisdictional competitions. The Soccer Challenge is a fun way for Knights of Columbus councils to engage with youth in their communities with an athletic event that encourages the values of sportsmanship and healthy competition. Children demonstrate the most important skill in soccer—shooting accuracy on the penalty kick—and compete to reach the international level of competition. International champions are announced by the Knights of Columbus international headquarters in New Haven, CT, based on scores from the jurisdiction-level competitions.
All boys and girls ages 9 to 14 are eligible to participate and will compete in their respective age divisions. All contestants on the local level are recognized for their participation in the event. Participants are required to furnish proof of age and written parental consent. For entry forms or additional information, contact Jim Marketto at 856-340-2674 or e-mail [email protected]
