Countryside Garden Club invites the public to the Vineland Public Library for a presentation with local horticulturalist Joe Alvarez at 1:45 p.m. on Thursday, July 14. Joe will diagnose common houseplant maladies and provide corrective measures. Feel free to bring photos of problems for advice, but please avoid bringing unhealthy plants to the library. The Vineland Public Library is located at 1058 E. Landis Ave., Vineland.

The Countryside Garden Club meets the first Thursday of each month from March through November at various locations with the purpose of furthering interest in gardening in both public and private settings. Events sponsored by the club support community education and awards an annual scholarship at the Cumberland Campus of Rowan College of South Jersey. Club members also help with the maintenance of the Blue Star Garden at the NJ Veterans’ Memorial Home.
