The Board of Directors at the Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA lost one of its most active members as it recently accepted the resignation of Gary Galloway. He had been a member for 14 years and was a past president of the Board. He was involved in a host of YMCA events, campaigns, initiatives, and projects.
Board president Shayne Bevilacqua said, “Gary was a model volunteer, always going above and beyond. He exemplified a combination of candor and passion for the Y.”
YMCA’s CEO George Steinbronn, Jr., praised Galloway as a leader and role model for the group. He also described a photo montage that was presented to Galloway, which included pictures of him at a wide variety of events over the years.
The Board gave Galloway its heartfelt thanks and a standing ovation. Galloway thanked the Board and confirmed that he will still be involved with the organization.
