You can never get enough sweets to bestow—with love this Valentine’s weekend

by Lisa Ann Panzino DiNunzio

Of course we want to show love to the special people in our lives everyday, but on Valentine’s we tend do so in more creative and inspired ways. Cards, flowers and candy are all very nice, but there’s just something special about making or creating a yummy treat for your loved ones using the world’s sweetest ingredient….LOVE!

Tomato & Mozzarella Heart Salad
Cherry tomatoes
Fresh mozzarella balls
Basil leaves, optional
Extra-virgin olive oil, to taste
Balsamic vinegar, to taste
Salt and pepper, to taste

Arrange basil leaves on a plate in a heart shape. Form a heart using the cherry tomatoes. Fill the center of the heart with the mozzarella balls. Serve with a drizzle of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, and a sprinkle of salt and pepper.

Chocolate Dipping Sauce & Dippers
3/4 cup heavy cream
2 1/4 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Strawberries
Pineapple chunks
Banana slices
Pound cake, cubed
Pretzels
Rigged potato chips

In a small saucepan over low heat, warm the heavy cream and chocolate chips together, stirring until the chocolate completely melts. Transfer the chocolate dip to a serving bowl and serve immediately with forks, fruit and other favorite dippers.

As always, Bon Appetit!
