Members of The Lutheran Church of the Redeemer, Vineland, have continued to reach out to help those in need in the greater Vineland area. The restrictions from the COVID-19 virus have not deterred them from continuing their community outreach.
They prepare 200 Peanut Butter & Jelly sandwiches for the Vineland Soup Kitchen each week, are collecting school supplies to fill backpacks for local children, recently collected personal care products and backpacks for the homeless and gathered snack items for the Salvation Army for their food distribution to those who are food challenged.
Pastor Heather Sugden adds that the past few months have “challenged us to put into practice what we say: The church is not a building. We have seen faith get creative, not just in how we worship, but in how we love and serve our neighbors, too.”
