The Salvation Army Vineland Corps is helping to make the next school year the best school year for more than 400 students in Vineland by providing backpacks, school supplies and other necessary items for families in need.

For kids preparing for the upcoming school year, school supplies remain critical to their success.

The Salvation Army adapts its services this time of year to ensure that children in every community can continue receiving the educational support they deserve. In addition to providing essential supplies, the Corps also held a carnival-themed celebration with hamburgers and hot dogs, cotton candy and popcorn.

Zoraida Tirado said “I am not working and this event really helps me and with prices going up The Salvation Army really helps families who are in need; not only with backpacks but also with the food pantry.”

The Salvation Army partnered with Walmart of Vineland and Millville and the City of Vineland to serve those who may need assistance with purchasing school supplies. Families across the Vineland community continue to be greatly impacted as the prices of essential items rise due to inflation. Vulnerable families are being forced to choose between expenses like food, utility bills, and purchasing school supplies for their children.

To help ensure that The Salvation Army can continue to provide vital services throughout New Jersey, supporters can donate online at SalvationArmyNJ.org. Every donation provides help and hope to those in need, and all gifts stay within the community in which they are given.

The Salvation Army annually helps more than 23 million Americans overcome poverty, addiction, and economic hardships through a range of social services. For more information, visit SalvationArmyUSA.org or follow on Twitter @SalvationArmyUS and #DoingTheMostGood.
