There is exciting news in the Glasstown Arts District! Longtime artist Maryann Cannon recently sold her gallery building at 508 N. High Street to a working-artist Danielle Cartier. But we are not losing Maryann; she has downsized LaBottega and moved into Cottage I across the street in the Village on High. She’s been busy painting and arranging the gallery and her studio space inside Cottage I and will be opening on Third Friday, March 18. All the galleries and shops in the Village will be open until 9 p.m. on the 18th.

We want to wish Maryann the best of everything as she continues to exhibit the art of many area artists plus her own fabulous works. Make sure you visit LaBottega in the Village soon.

Danielle Cartier is a visual artist, muralist, and professor new to the Millville Glasstown Arts District. As the new property owner at 508 N. High Street, she’s now in the process of remodeling the space to serve as her new studio, a visual arts classroom, and a contemporary art gallery.

She currently teaches courses in visual art at Fleisher Art Memorial in Philadelphia, Perkins Center for the Arts in Collingswood and Moorestown, Rowan College of South Jersey, and Stockton University. Danielle is best known for her mural projects and large-scale, multimedia paintings made from reconstructed materials, recombined ephemera and layered printmaking and painting processes. Spring is in the air and some of our attractions will begin full-time hours. WheatonArts & Cultural Center opens on April 1 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily except for Mondays. Bayshore Center, Port Norris, is kicking off the 2022 season on Friday, April 8, with its Second Friday events from 4 to 8:30 p.m. New this year, Bayshore Center will be open on the second Saturdays from 12 to 5 p.m. through September.
