On Saturday, December 9, Cumberland County will hold its Wreaths of Remembrance ceremony at Cumberland County Veterans Cemetery, 113 Trench Road in Bridgeton. Volunteers who wish to assist with preparing the wreaths should arrive at 8:30 a.m. The program of laying wreaths to honor and remember veterans will begin at 9:30 a.m.
A Wreaths Across America ceremony will be held at Greenwich Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 16, at 12 noon. The ceremony honors American members of all military branches. Balsam wreaths will be laid at the graves of those buried in the Greenwich Presbyterian Church, 630 Ye Greate Street, Greenwich. Members of the church, the Bridgeton VFW Post 1795, and the Greenwich Tea Burning Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will participate in the ceremony and then all present are welcome to participate in the laying of wreaths on the military-marked graves. Veterans from all American-involved battles reside eternally in this cemetery, including the American War for Independence, the Teaburners and The War of 1812.
