Weekly Update: Yellow Visitation, Boosters in Vineland and Mullica Hill

Excerpted from February 21, 2022 message to the community, inspirahealthnetwork.org/covid19

Great news on COVID, 6.7 million people are vaccinated. We have 2.9 million people who have gotten the booster and February 23rd through March 1st is booster week. The state of New Jersey is pushing out a lot of information about the benefits of boosters. Even with our own staff we’ve seen those that kept their boosters up to date did not get sick by a significant percentage less. So it is important. And if you haven’t done so yet we encourage you to do so.

If you have additional questions or still are seeking the booster, check our website (inspirahealthnetwork.org/covid19) for the times that we are offering at both our Mullica Hill and Vineland sites.

I know we are anxiously awaiting the ruling from the Feds on kids under five, but obviously we will let you know as soon as we know any additional information.

So our visitation is yellow. Obviously that’s a heck of a lot better than red and we’re thrilled to be able to have loved ones in with their family members now. I know that makes a big difference.

You would be surprised while you don’t think emergency room volume really can fluctuate by how people feel. People do talk themselves in and out of whether or not they’re really sick enough to come. And we certainly have seen the volumes drop off, which is a good thing for our staff who needed a desperate breather.

But for those of us who just worry about whether or not people are delaying care, we certainly have seen through COVID that those delays have ended up with sicker patients in a higher acuity. And so we’re really trying to make sure that we’re doing all we can to encourage people to make sure to listen to their body, stay attuned to everything that’s going on and really use the services as you need them.

Until we meet again, be well and stay safe.
