The Vineland Public Library (VPL) has set its reopening for October 13, with limited services and hours in continuing efforts to reduce the risks of spreading COVID-19.
Library hours are 9 to 11 a.m. and 2 to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Only 25 patrons will be allowed inside at a time for 15 minutes per day to browse and check out materials. All staff and patrons will be required to wear face masks at all times, covering over the mouth and nose, and to adhere to social distancing guidelines. Patrons will be required to hand sanitize upon entering and must provide name and contact information for contact tracing.
The library will not allow food or drinks and seating has been temporarily removed. The vending area, teen room, public meeting rooms, restrooms and quiet study room will remain closed. Additionally, the Children’s Department will remain closed except for in-person material requests. The fax machine will not be available. Library programs will continue to be virtual.
The first floor will be open for browsing and checking out library material. There will not be access to reference material, newspapers or magazines for browsing and reading in the library. However, magazines may be checked out and taken home. Contactless curbside service will remain available and is the preferred method for circulating library materials. Curbside service is available from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday and Thursday.
Book returns will only be accepted via the book-drop located near the front entrance, and the library will continue to quarantine library materials for 72 hours before releasing them back into circulation.
Due to the limited number of computers available to provide social distancing, computer use will be by appointment only and reduced to one half hour per day. Staff will not be able to accompany patrons to computers to provide assistance in order to comply with six-foot distancing. To schedule an appointment for the computers, call the reference desk, 856-794-4244 ext. 4243.
Wi-Fi is available from the library parking lot. Copying, scanning and printing will be available.
