Two More Rite Aid Stores Set to Close

Two more Cumberland County Rite Aid pharmacies are expected to close soon. The Vineland location at 1889 S. Lincoln Avenue and the Millville location at 907 N.  High Street are on the most recent list of proposed closings. The embattled one-time pharmacy chain giant has announced it will be closing more than 200 additional stores, after the chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy a second time last month.

A group of 13 stores were added to the list for New Jersey, making a total of 30 stores in the state on pace to shut down in 2025.

In addition to Vineland and Millville, eight more of the stores listed were in southern NJ.

This latest batch of 200 brings the total number of locations shutting their doors at around 600 throughout the United States, approximately half of the 1,240 retail stores that will be listed for sale. Rite Aid first filed for bankruptcy restructuring in 2023, after the Philadelphia-based company had been struggling with losses for years.
