Stay on Budget This Back-To-School Season

Shopping during the back-to-school season can be overwhelming, making it important to stay on budget.

According to a recent survey conducted by TopCashback.com (TopCashback), the USA’s most generous cash back site, over half of parents have a budget of $100 to $500 set aside for back-to-school shopping.

The survey polled a cross-section of 912 US-based adults, aged 18 and over.

With 20 percent of parents often going over budget and 42 percent somewhat often going over budget, it is important to shop early and diligently to avoid impulse buys.

Almost 50 percent of parents polled began back-to-school shopping a month in advance, which can make getting the items your child needs exceedingly difficult as we get closer to the start of school. Avoiding the high demand for supplies in August and shopping back-to-school clearance sales in September, where you can get 70 percent off supplies, is a great idea as we get closer to the start of school.

Every school year, 45.74 percent of children insist on having new sneakers while 24.65 percent want a new backpack. The best way to save on these items is to take advantage of the back-to-school sales using discounts and cash back sites like TopCashback. TopCashback features major retailers like Walmart, Target, Wayfair, JCPenney and Nike, all of which have back-to-school items parents are looking for.

With 84.39 percent of parents utilizing resources such as cash back websites and coupons for back-to-school purchases, it is a good idea for all parents who want to save big bucks this season.
