South Jersey Shooting: 8-Year-Old Boy Hospitalized After Being Shot in Leg at Millville Home

On Friday night, an 8-year-old boy was shot in the leg inside a house in Millville, New Jersey, around 11:40 p.m. on North 6th Street, located in Cumberland County.
Police officers from the Millville Police Department arrived at the scene shortly after the shooting and found the boy inside the home with a gunshot wound to his leg.
Emergency responders took the boy to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he remains in stable condition as of Monday, meaning he is not in immediate danger but is still being treated for his injury.
Police have not shared details about how the shooting happened, but Millville Police Chief Ross Hoffman said the shooting appears to be accidental, although the case is still under investigation.
The main focus at this time is the boy’s recovery and understanding exactly how the gun was fired, which has raised concerns about gun safety in homes, especially when children are present.
