February is Heart Health Month and earlier this month on National Wear Red Day, members of the Millville Woman’s Club were spotted at Cumberland Mall dressed in red for their Heart Walk to support the American Heart Association (AHA). According to AHA, heart disease is the biggest killer worldwide, and stroke ranks second. On National Wear Red Day, red is worn to raise awareness and help prevent these killers by taking note of one’s heart health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.

AHA is non-profit organization founded in 1924 that funds cardiovascular medical research, educates consumers on healthy living and fosters appropriate cardiac care in an effort to reduce disability and deaths caused by cardiovascular disease and stroke. AHA is an excellent resource for information regarding heart health and means to maintaining a healthier lifestyle. AHA can be reached at 800-242-8721.
