Philly-Famous Santucci’s Pizza Expanding to Cherry Hill, New Jersey

Santucci’s Original Square Pizza is coming to Cherry Hill, and it’s big news for pizza lovers in South Jersey.

If you’ve never tried their famous square pizzas with the sauce on top of the cheese, you’re in for a real treat.

This isn’t just pizza—it’s a slice of Philly history.

The new spot will be in the Holly Ravine Plaza on Springdale Road.

They’re aiming for a soft opening in the next few weeks, but there’s no exact date yet since they’re waiting on a few inspections.

Still, it’s happening soon, so get ready!

The Cherry Hill location is being run by franchisees Steve Bombaro and John Dingler, who are bringing the Santucci’s experience to this side of the river.

For those who don’t know, Santucci’s has been a Philly favorite since 1959.

That’s when Joseph and Philomena Santucci opened their first pizza shop in Northeast Philadelphia.

They started something special with their square pies baked in pans and topped with sauce above the cheese—a style that was new and different at the time.

Some people thought it was odd, but it caught on, and now it’s an iconic part of Philly food culture.

This Cherry Hill opening is part of a bigger expansion.

Santucci’s is also planning new locations in Deptford and Brigantine.

The Deptford spot will be on Clements Bridge Road, and the Brigantine shop will be on Brigantine Blvd.

They’re even opening a location in University City in Philly.

None of these have official dates yet, but they’re all in the works.

It’s clear Santucci’s is growing fast, and fans couldn’t be happier.

This isn’t Santucci’s first time venturing outside Philly.

Back in 2018, they opened a location in Ventnor, taking over an old hardware store.

In 2019, they brought their pizza to the Ocean City Boardwalk, though that spot closed in 2022.

Most recently, they opened in Wildwood, bringing their famous square pies to the shore.

It’s clear they’ve been working hard to share their tasty pizza with even more people.

The story behind Santucci’s is all about family.

Joseph and Philomena started it all in 1959 in Juniata Park, and their son Frank took over in 1976.

He kept the original location going for over 40 years before moving it to South Philly.

Through all the changes, the Santucci family has stayed true to their original recipe, which is why their pizza is still so loved today.

It’s worth mentioning that not every Santucci’s is the same.

There’s Joe Santucci’s Original Square Pizza Bar & Grill in Northeast Philly and Philomena Santucci’s Square Pizza in Warminster and Hatfield.

These are run by Frank’s siblings, Joe and Teresa, and while they share the family name, they’re separate from the main Santucci’s brand.

Each has its own spin, but they all trace back to the same roots.

The new Cherry Hill location is something special.

It’s not just about bringing a new pizza spot to town—it’s about sharing a piece of Philly tradition.

Santucci’s is more than just pizza; it’s a story of a family, their recipe, and the love that’s gone into every slice for decades.

If you’ve been eating Santucci’s forever or are just about to give it a try, this new location is sure to be great.

With more locations opening in South Jersey and beyond, it’s clear that Santucci’s square pies are here to stay.

So, get ready to dig in and see what makes this pizza so special.

Once you try it, you’ll understand why people have been raving about it for over 60 years.
