Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cumberland County is collaborating with other Counties to present the Gardening Education Series 2021 on Wednesday evenings from 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm from February 3, 2021 through May 12, 2021. This series is available only on-line and can be considered as pre-requisite educational training for those interested in becoming a Certified Master Gardener volunteer (additional volunteer training required to become certified). The virtual series will be delivered through:
• 15 Live on-line “core” classes will be offered with Rutgers faculty presenter
• Additional webinar content of pre-recorded electives
• Resources for in-home study
• Weekly on-line discussion with the county RCE Program Coordinator
Topics covered in the live on-line core sessions include Turf, Botany, Pruning and Maintenance, Soils, Vegetable Production, Entomology, Plant Pathology, Small Fruit, IPM & Pesticide Safety and Use, Tree Fruit, Woody Trees and Shrubs, Composting and Fertilizers, and Herbaceous Plants.
The class fee of $200 includes on-line instruction and Rutgers Soil Test Kit. Registration and payment deadline is January 22, 2021.
