Rutgers Cooperative Extension of Cumberland County is holding the first of a series of Gardening Down Jersey Style Back 2 Basics Fall Series for homeowners on September 19 from 9:30 a.m. until 12 noon for only $5 (due by 9/12/19). It will be held at the Extension Education Center, 291 Morton Ave., Millville, NJ 08332.
This first class, “Turfs Up,” will address some of the common lawn practices of watering (or overwatering!), mowing and fertilizing for homeowners, including the fertilizer law. Why it is so difficult to identify those pesky weed grasses will also be discussed. The demonstration of the day will be an easy way to measure the amount of water that you are applying to your lawn.
The classes were developed based on the most Frequently Asked Questions of the Horticulture Helpline and you are encouraged to Bring It On with your own questions.
