Producers from BarBHouse Productions are seeking locations in Vineland to be part of two upcoming films the New York production company is working on. The filming would last three to five weeks for each movie, and a location fee would be paid. Crews working on the productions are fully insured.
The first film, titled Penitent, is about a woman shut in during a snowstorm who hires a paranormal investigator to find the answers to a dark entity that haunts her Victorian home.
Ideally, producers are seeking a modestly priced farmhouse style home (rustic, creaky floors, and lived-in is okay). The most important element is it needs to have a staircase leading up to the second floor, ideally at the entrance of the house.
The director is Brad Rego and it is written by Nathan Faudree, who also wrote A Wounded Fawn.
The second film, titled Nanny Cam, is about a married, first-time mother dealing with the standard fears and anxieties that come with motherhood, and some that don’t, including a demon using the couple’s nanny cams to cast terrifying images. The producers are looking for a house in the suburbs. Vinyl siding and/or a white picket fence is a plus, but not required. It is in development.
A Wounded Fawn, released last year, is the best known film BarBHouse has been associated with. The American horror film is directed by Travis Stevens and written by Stevens and Faudree. It stars Sarah Lind, Josh Ruben and Malin Barr.
It had its world premiere in a midnight screening at the June 2022 Tribeca Festival. It was picked up by the streaming service Shudder and is currently appearing on Prime Video, Apple+, Vudu, and other services.
It has been nominated for a 2023 FANGORIA Chainsaw Award. The Chainsaw Awards is a ceremony focused on horror and thriller films and TV series, which launched in 1992.
In the film, a serial killer brings an unsuspecting new victim on a weekend getaway to add another body to his ever-growing count. She’s buying into his faux charms, and he’s eagerly lusting for blood.
