Plevins Attends Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame

Stephen Plevins poses with Roberto Duran. The boxer, from Panama, held championships in four weight classes. He also fought 119 fights, winning 103 and knocking out 70. A movie was made of his life entitled Hands of Stone, which was his nickname.

The Atlantic City Boxing Hall of Fame held their third annual event with a four-day celebration held from June 20 to 23 at the Claridge Hotel. The event, organized by Ray McCline, honored eight boxers and 11 non-boxers. The eight boxers awarded were John Brown, Kevin Watts, Bernard Hopkins, Iran Barkley, Tim Witherspoon, Virgil Hall, Roberto Duran, and Mickey Ward.
