New and Exciting

by Russell Swanson, Exec. Dir., VDID, Main Street Vineland

We have some new developments about some upcoming events—adding more excitement to our calendar of happening.s Two are additional features to events already mentioned in this column and one is the return of an annual favorite.

• An added feature to the 29th Cruise Down Memory Lane, which will take place Saturday, October 16, from 3 to 8 p.m., with the rain date as the next day from 2 to 5 p.m., will be the return of the cruise portion of the event up and down The Ave. It’s been brought back and so the “cruise” goes back into Cruise Down Memory Lane. The cruise portion will take place the last hour of the event, following the static display of the cars. Over 1,000 classic cars will line The Ave for the downtown Vineland tradition. This event draws people from throughout the area. It’s long put The Ave on the map for classical car enthusiasts and cruise fans. Watch for even more information.

• We are proud to announce who we will be recognizing at our A Taste of Vineland & Volunteer Recognition Event on Wednesday, October 27 from 6 to 9 p.m., at the Greenview Inn at Eastlyn Golf Course. 4049 Italia Ave., Vineland. We recognize those who have worked closely with Main Street Vineland on its projects and initiatives. We are also proud to announce that the major sponsors of this event, now in its 10th year, are First Choice Freezer & Cold Storage and M & O Freezer & Cold Storage.

Many of Vineland’s finest restaurants will be offering samples of their delicious signature dishes—main courses, appetizers, and desserts—as well as a fabulous silent auction and much more. We’ll also be recognizing those of our Main Street Vineland volunteers and partners who have contributed greatly to the work of our organization. We’ll have breaking news about that soon. Additional sponsorship opportunities are available and ad space will be available in the event program book.
